HEADIN’ FOR HOME………..BY SHERRY MORRISON

 I’ve often wondered why it’s so much easier to understand an animal than it is to understand people.  Probably because it takes so little effort.    Understanding people can take a LOT of effort.  And let’s be honest.  Sometimes we don’t want to put in that effort.  It’s easier to make judgments based on how WE look at things, and how WE would do it.  But honestly, unless we’ve been in another persons’ shoes, we do NOT know how we would do it.  Haven’t been there!  We have a commandment from the Lord in John 13:34-35.  We are to love one another as He has loved us.  Well.  Jesus loves Sherry, with all her issues.  So, I am asked to love you, with all your issues…..It’s just that simple.  None of us is perfect.  None of us have ‘arrived’. We are all a work in progress.  I have found out in my life, that some of the people who have rubbed me the wrong way the most, have become some of my closest friends.  How?  By spending some time with them.  Getting to know them.  Will every person you meet become your best friend?  No.  Just like some of the horses I have had.  I wanted to sell them right away.  I didn’t like them.  They didn’t like me.  But I hung in there.  Looking back, they were the best ones I ever had.  I am thankful for the seemingly difficult people who are now my friends.  My life is better for knowing them.  I pray their life is better for knowing me.  How about you?
